Many manufactures produce semi-automatic espresso machines. Automatic controls feature on this sort of espresso machine, which automate the espresso brewing phases. You must manually supply coffee to the machines, tamp the coffee grinds in the portafilter and clean the machines after each us. Semi-automatic espresso machines do not contain a coffee grinder.
Automatic Espresso Machines
Automatic espresso machines are simple to operate and automate those steps performed manually in semi-automatic machines. These types of machines also feature a pump.

These models are cheaper than the other types mentioned above, are fast to brew the espresso and may not feature a pump to assist forcing the hot water through the coffee grounds.
Super Automatic Espresso Machines
Super automatic espresso machines are a recent design development in the espresso machine marketplace. These machines manage the whole espresso process, namely: preparing the coffee beans; automatically filling the portofilter and tamping the coffee grounds; force water through the coffee grinds and dispensing the waste coffee. Although these machines are high ticket items, the espresso making process is fully automated right to the final step of turning itself off.
